e-learning - Malt - videos for Thunderbird

Project name

Configure Thunderbird to offer Outlook features

Project description

The group Collaboration, Devices and Applications (CDA) in CERN IT Department provides a big number of services which are very visible to the end-user, under-going continuous development, while ensuring top quality availability and support.

In the framework of MALT-Mail (Microstoft ALTernatives for Mail) we wish to guide users to configure Thunderbird as a mail reader without losing popular features present in MS Outlook.

The student will:

  1. Interview experienced Outlook users to identify the features they need most.
  2. When possible, provide a reference Thunderbird configuration. In case of a missing feature, reach out to the Mozilla Foundation and request it.
  3. Make very short videos, one per function or group of functions (not exceeding 4' minutes in duration). Method should be 'screen capture with voice over'.
  4. Incorporate the designated Intro/Outro files for the CDS e-learning collection.
  5. Equip with subtitles, exactly refecting the script.
  6. Update the relevant chapter of the documentation.
